The only way to automate is to print the .pdf, then scan it in through and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) program. My scanner is unavailable.

He found that the thesis did not discuss Rodham's own views much, other than describing Alinsky's appealing personality. The thesis sought to fit Alinsky into a line of American social activists, including Eugene Debs, Martin Luther King Jr. and Walt Whitman.

Written in formal academic language, the thesis concluded that "[Alinsky's] power/conflict model is rendered inapplicable by existing social conflicts" and that Alinsky's model had not expanded nationally due to "the anachronistic nature of small autonomous conflict."

A Boston Globe assessment found the thesis nuanced, and said that "While [Rodham] defends Alinsky, she is also dispassionate, disappointed, and amused by his divisive methods and dogmatic ideology." Rodham's former professor and thesis adviser Alan Schechter told MSNBC.com that "There Is Only The Fight..." was a good thesis, and that its suppression by the Clinton White House "was a stupid political decision, obviously, at the time."

I was reading it and some parts are hard to make out.

It is bullshit that it is copyrighted.

Even if it was you could put it online under fair use.

That sounds like a challenge and makes me want to go type it myself. Let them sue me. I don't think they have the guts. It would bring to much negative publicity.

I started to type it up. I lost my MS word sometime back. I tried with Notepad and it wasn't working out to well. The formatting of it that is.

I'll have to find a better word processor before starting again.

Maybe that open office I hear about.

I would download an office off of some torrent site but they usually turn out to be fakes.

OpenOffice is 10X better than MS Office. Get it. They have a Windoze version.

OO will read all of your old MS Word docs, and will let you save in Word format. It also does Excel, Quattro Pro, Lotus 1.2.3, Wordperfect, etc.

I didn't notice that anyone had volunteered to do the transcription, so I've taken it upon myself. I'm a little anal about the final product, so I'm trying to keep the page formatting as close to the appearance of the original doc as possible. It'll be a Word doc when I'm done. If anyone wants a copy just speak up.

It will take me a few days to get this finished. I'm doing it in the spare hours of my evenings, which aren't always free. But this issue is important to me, as is spreading the word; Lord knows I wish I could do more to fight for our freedom.

I have a few pages typed up. Open office format. Set to microsoft word. I can send it to you if you want to.
