Wrestling personality 'Miss Elizabeth' dies

Cobb County police say they have found no sign of foul play in the death Thursday of wrestling personality Miss Elizabeth, who was rushed to the hospital from the Marietta home of former wrestler Lex Lugar.

Elizabeth A. Hulette, 42, was unresponsive when police were summoned at 5:35 a.m. to the home off Powder Springs Road, said Cobb police spokesman Cpl. Brody Staud.

He said the woman died at Kennestone Hospital, but authorities have not determined the cause of death.

"There were no signs of foul play. We are not investigating this as a homicide,"said Staud, adding that police will await an autopsy report from the county medical examiner.

Police received a call from the residence, where Hulette lived with the former wrestler, whose real name is Lawrence Pfohl. Police spoke to him early Thursday and he rode with her to the hospital, said Staud.

Poster comment:

Elizabeth Hewlet entered the world of Professional Wrestling as the manager of her then-husband Randy "the Macho Man" Savage. They entered the World Wrestling Federation together in 1985 and their careers took off immediately.

Known as Miss Elizabeth, she quickly guided Savage to the Intercontinental Championship. After he lost the belt to Ricky Steamboat (in what many consider one of the greatest matches ever) at Wrestlemania III, Eventually they would set their sights on the the WWF World Heavyweight Championship.

In 1988, Savage won the WWF World Heavyweight Title, defeating Ted DiBiase in a tournament at Wrestlemania IV. When Savage suffered a beating at the hands of opponents in the Ring, Elizabeth ran to Hulk Hogan for help. As she became the manager for Hogan as well, she united him with Hogan as the Mega Powers. This alliance broke down in a dispute over Elizabeth.

After her divorce from Savage, Elizabeth retired from the sport but returned in 1995 and eventually became a member of the New World Order.

Thanks for posting this article, Louise. I used to be a big fan of pro 'rasslin. Of course I knew it was not real (some people get fighting mad when you tell them that even though you can point out to them that the guys who aren't really bigtime superstars ride to their "matches" together and get drunk together afterwards. I helped a small promotion one time which came to the town I live take down the ring and stuff. Funny, the "bad guys" or "heels" as they are commonly known in the business were working right alongside the "good guys" or "baby faces." And of course you wouldn't have thought so to look at him or watch him outside the ring, but their young "referee" was just as blind in the ring as any of his bigtime counterparts.

(The government isn't the country. Politicians aren't our leaders, either. They're the damned hired help and we can talk about them any way we please...
